This customer was already in possession of 30 PV modules of 275 Wp. The surplus was supplied to the grid for several years.
We were approached for this project through a friend of ours. It was once mentioned in a conversation that the owner had ordered a Tesla Power Wall but never received it. We supply up to 42kWh lithium batteries from the brand RCT-Power. (https://rct-power.pt/) of the German brand RCT-power.de.
The brand had an introductory promotion in Portugal at the time of the customer’s request. He made use of this on our advice. The delivery included a hybrid PV inverter with an 11.5 kWh lithium ion battery.
We then mounted the inverter in a small space at the back of the garage. We have stacked the lithium battery outside the room.
The energy flow can be followed with the RCT-power App. The special feature of this project was that the main electricity cable in the house was connected 50 meters away. To be able to use the home manager, it must be installed in the main pipe.
We overgrown the great distance with a modbus radio signal transmitter. This goes up to a distance of 1000 meters with clear view.
The surplus to the energy supplier is set to 0% via the home manager. And all excess power goes to the battery.
Once the battery is fully charged, the PV inverter switches the photovoltaic panels down via the MPPT tracker. So that the panels do not deliver more than required for use.
Every installer of electrical appliances will sometimes experience it. We therefore say it honestly. The inverter burned out after 2 days and stopped functioning.
Unfortunately, our supplier did not have a new inverter in stock due to the large request related to the promotion. We have a direct contact with the RCT factory in Germany. Explained the situation, and a new inverter was sent immediately.
No damage to the lithium battery had occurred. There was a fuse in the battery management system (BMS). RCT-power had already taken this into account and sent a new one with the inverter.
Now the entire system project estombar has been working properly for some time.
